In contemporary public administration, attention to ethical and spiritual dimensions of management has become increasingly important for achieving good governance, administrative integrity, and public trust. Managers in governmental organizations are not merely responsible for performing technical and administrative duties; rather, their behavior, decisions, and value orientation significantly influence the legitimacy, efficiency, and ethical climate of public institutions. In societies such as Iran, whose cultural and political systems are rooted in religious values, management models that incorporate indigenous moral and spiritual principles are particularly necessary. Among the most valuable sources for such models are Islamic teachings and the conduct of prominent religious figures. The conduct of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), especially as reflected in Nahj al‑Balagha and other classical texts, represents one of the richest sources of ethical and managerial teachings in Islamic thought. His approach to governance emphasizes justice, accountability, humility, social responsibility, and devotion to divine values. Accordingly, the present study aims to develop a model of spiritual living for managers of Iranian governmental organizations based on the Alawi tradition.
