Theoretical principles prevalent in performance evaluation, is incompatible with cultural principles of our country that are based on godliness spirituality and internal control. The aim of this study was to determine the features, aspects, elements of performance evaluation in Iranian organizations based on the valuable statements of Imam Ali (AS). This research is an applied research and the method is descriptive. Method of data collection is library and collected data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis and cognitive mapping. The study uses population valuable statements of Imam Ali, based on the book Nahj al-Balagha which was examined by counting all methods. The findings of this research show that the characteristics of the performance evaluation in thought of Imam Ali (AS) have two dimensions:A) Executive characteristics (precision, determination, justice and fairness and dynamism, flexibility). b) Objectives and approaches (focusing on strategy, consequentialism and excellence and continuous improvement).
Also in thought of he the performance evaluation include the following types; Divine or spiritual assessment and non-divine assessment or organizational, (self-assessment, General or collective assessment and Managerial assessment). The use of these valuable principles in the design of performance evaluation models in organizations of Islamic Iran will be helpful for managers and officials.
