Imam Ali used different theoretical and practical methods for increasing people’s religious knowledge. In the stylistics of Imam’s theoretical methods, they included conventional theoretical methods and non-conventional methods in logics. The present study is to identify that Imam used different types of deductive, symbolic, and inductive reasoning, and he employed more partial methods such as different types of arguments, dialectic, rhetoric, and poetry for the public and private audiences. In case of non-conventional methods, Imam used the creation of correct attitude, applied declaration of religious teachings, and introducing appropriate patterns for teaching religious knowledge. Accordingly, the diversity of techniques depends the diversity of audiences and different temporal and spatial contexts. In other words, by investigating the theoretical methods in Imam’s teaching, it can be identified that components such as diversity of techniques, knowing audiences, commitment to truth, and attention to the context of messages shaped Imam Ali’s style, and theoretical methodology in increasing people’s religious knowledge.
